The Lahore High Court (LHC) heard a plea on December 11 that sought to increase internet speeds throughout Pakistan.
The federal government and pertinent authorities have received notices from the court asking them to respond to the case.
The Judicial Activism Panel called the meeting, which was chaired by Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal.
The petition claims that Pakistan is ranked 198th in the world for internet speed according to data from the World Population Review.
The petition asks for court orders to abolish prohibitions on the use of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and to improve internet speeds across the country.
