Unknown attackers ambushed a police van in the Wana neighborhood of South Waziristan on Thursday, injuring a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and leaving one officer unaccounted for.
Police sources claim that the van was shot at while it was cruising the area.
One police policeman vanished and is believed to have been kidnapped, and the DSP was shot during the assault.
In order to find the missing officer and capture the attackers, a large police detachment arrived at the scene after the incident and began a search.
