ISLAMABAD: Bushra Bibi, the wife of the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), suffered a legal defeat Monday when her application for temporary relief in cases pertaining to the protests on November 26 were denied.
Extra Sessions The former first lady’s bail petitions were heard by Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.
Khalid Yousuf Chaudhry, Bushra Bibi’s attorney, filed an exemption petition during the hearings, stating that she had to be present at Adiala Jail for the £190 million reference ruling.
Iqbal Kakar, the prosecutor, argued against the plea, pointing out that bail surety bonds had not been submitted. After saying, “You have not complied with the court’s directive,” the judge denied three requests for temporary bail.
Three lawsuits have been brought against Bushra in relation to the demonstrations on November 26. One was filed at the Tarnol Police Station.
