On Friday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) declared that it will contest the penalties imposed on Imran Khan, the founder of the party, and Bushra Bibi, his wife, in the Al-Qadir Trust case.
At a news conference in Islamabad, Omar Ayub, a prominent PTI politician and the head of the opposition in the National Assembly, stated, “We will challenge this verdict in the superior courts.”
“Open-and-shut case”
Information Minister Ataullah Tarar claimed that a religion card had been utilized during the hearings and that the case complied with the law during a press conference with Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar.
Information Minister: It was a “open-and-shut case” with a merit-based verdict.
