SUKKUR: When police retrieved journalist Fayyaz Ahmed Solangi from Sindh’s Kashmore area on Sunday, they disclosed a staged kidnapping for a Rs10 million ransom.
“Solangi abduction is fake and managed,” two top police officers, SSP Khairpur Touheed Rehman Memon and SSP Kashmore Zubair Nazir Sheikh, stated during a joint press conference.
The journalistic community was deeply alarmed by Solangi’s kidnapping, which led to strikes in multiple cities and substantial media coverage.
A few days ago, a video of Solangi being tortured by the kidnappers went viral on social media and other platforms.
