Allegations of involvement in any anti-China event in the United States were strongly denied by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday, who called them “malicious fabrications” and “baseless campaigns” intended to damage his name.
His response followed social media posts and claims from Indian and local media sites that the interior minister had attended an event hosted by a lobbying group that was active in anti-Chinese Communist Party campaigns.
“My participation in a youth event was misconstrued and exaggerated,” Naqvi told reporters in Houston. He explained that he didn’t go to any anti-Chinese events in the US.
He reiterated his pledge that the false information and unfounded rumors would not prevent him from carrying out his duties.
