ISLAMABAD: Concerned over recent media reports that suggested a transferred judge will be considered for the position of chief justice of the federal territory’s court, seven judges from the Islamabad High Court wrote a letter to the chief justices of the Supreme Court and high courts on Friday.
“We, the undersigned judges of the Islamabad High Court, are writing in response to the media’s extensive coverage of the transfer of a justice from the Lahore High Court to the Islamabad High Court, which has since been addressed by several bar associations as well. The judges of the IHC noted that the transferred judge would subsequently be given consideration for selection as the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court.
