LAHORE: According to The News, attorneys nationwide have declared their intention to march in opposition to the 26th Constitutional Amendment towards Islamabad on February 10.
Asad Manzoor Butt, president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), made the judgment during a convention that the organization had organized.
Butt stated that legal experts around the country insist on live broadcasting of Supreme Court sessions and call for a thorough court hearing on the issue.
He called for the immediate cancellation of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan’s (JCP) February 10 meeting and stated that no new appointments should be made until the outcome of the 26th Amendment case was resolved. He also suggested that the seniormost judge of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) be appointed as the JCP’s chief.
