On Saturday, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Ismaili community, Prince Karim al-Hussaini Aga Khan IV, was buried in Lisbon. Four days ago, he died at the age of 88.
In honor of Prince Karim’s private funeral, which took place at the Ismaili community center in the Portuguese capital today, Pakistan is observing a national day of mourning. Tomorrow, he will be buried in Aswan, Egypt.
The national flag is flying at half-mast throughout the country, as per the federal government’s announcement two days ago.
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb attended Prince Karim’s funeral prayers in Lisbon and also expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the president.
