KARACHI: After being shot at by a suspect during a raid on a bungalow in the Gizri neighborhood of Karachi on Saturday, at least two police officers were hurt.
Later, the alleged shooter was taken into custody. One deputy superintendent of police (DSP) is among the injured.
Officials from the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), a specialized division of the Karachi police that handles murder and extortion cases, carried out the operation after receiving a tip about the kidnapping of a young guy.
An armed guy opened fire on the team conducting the raid on the bungalow, according to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Muqaddas Haider of the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA). He further mentioned that the firing had resulted in injuries to a DSP and an official.
