ISLAMABAD Rana Sanaullah, the Prime Minister’s adviser on political and public affairs, promised Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on Monday that all issues surrounding the controversial canals project will be resolved.
The pledge was given during a second phone call in which both leaders committed to carrying on with consultations and pursuing an amicable resolution.
Two days after PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari threatened to split his party from the ruling coalition led by the PML-N if the federal government did not allay its concerns about the contentious canals project, the Center extended the offer of talks.
The two main political parties, who are friends in the center, are at odds over the contentious canals project.
