The Sindh government has stated that it is open to a dialogue regarding the contentious canal project, which is now being considered by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
While Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon emphasized that “whenever talks take place, they will be at the government-to-government level,” Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs Sanaullah stated that the prime minister would make a suitable decision on this issue.
Sanaullah gave an assurance that Sindh’s interests will not be jeopardized during his appearance on Geo News’ “Geo Pakistan” show on Tuesday.
He declared that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was prepared for talks and that the federal government was treating the matter seriously, adding, “[We do not have] any intention to steal even a drop of Sindh’s water.”
