ROME: A week after a first round of indirect talks in Muscat that both sides characterized as constructive, Iran and the United States agreed on Saturday to hold another round of talks over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions next week, according to Iranian state TV. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff negotiated indirectly through an Omani official who relayed messages between the two sides. Iranian media reported that the nuclear negotiations between the two countries were held in a “constructive atmosphere.” “The atmosphere of these talks was constructive,” it said, adding that additional discussions could be held “in the coming days.”
