ISLAMABAD: According to The News, Saudi officials notified the Senate Committee on Interior and Narcotics on Thursday that 1,296 people using phony Pakistani passports had been identified as Afghan nationals.
Sen. Faisal Saleem Rehman chaired the meeting at Parliament House and instructed the National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) to report in detail at the committee’s next meeting on the measures taken against officials who issued false documents and tampered with the national database.
Senator Rehman presided over the Senate standing committee meeting.
Senator Irfan Siddiqui inquired at the discussion as to the number of passports issued in the previous five years that did not belong to Pakistanis.
