WASHINGTON: In spite of due process concerns, US President Donald Trump’s administration on Monday praised the initial outcomes of his immigration crackdown, putting pictures of suspected criminal offenders on the White House lawn and threatening to target states and cities that restrict collaboration with federal immigration enforcement.
According to a White House official, Trump intends to issue an executive order on Monday ordering top officials to identify the states and towns that are not adequately complying with federal immigration rules within a month.
After assuming office, Trump vowed to deport millions of illegal immigrants from the United States and began an aggressive enforcement operation, sending troops to the southern border.
