Hours before the Leeds crossbow attack, the suspect, who police had previously declared dead from a self-inflicted wound, penned a hateful internet manifesto.
Owen Lawrence, 38, was detained after the Saturday attack on the well-known Otley Run pub crawl in Headingley. He was transported to the hospital, where he passed away.
“Students, nightclub goers,” “neurotypicals,” and “police” were among the targets of a Facebook post that was noticed by the media and believed to have been written by Mr. Lawrence.
The planned violence was characterized as “terrorism, revenge, and misogynic rage” in the post.
After being hurt in the assault, two women, ages 19 and 31, were sent to the hospital.
The younger woman is still in stable condition after undergoing surgery for potentially fatal injuries.
