The Ministry of Religious Affairs stated on Wednesday that over 3,000 pilgrims from Pakistan experienced delays and cancellations in their Hajj travel plans due to difficulties in flight operations from May 7 to 9.
A ministry spokeswoman said that during the three days, thirteen Hajj flights had disruptions, with nine experiencing major delays and four being canceled. Pilgrims from major cities including as Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Multan were affected by the inconvenience.
Two Hajj flights each from Islamabad and Lahore were canceled by Saudi Airlines. A number of Pakistan International Airlines’ (PIA) Hajj flights had delays, including three from Lahore, two from Islamabad and Quetta, and one each from Multan and Karachi.
