Defense Minister Khawaja Asif stated on Saturday that India anticipated a feeble response, but its plan failed in the face of Pakistan’s cool-headed and measured response, following a ceasefire agreement between nuclear-armed Pakistan and India mediated by the United States.
“The myth of Indian arrogance has disappeared,” he added, adding that India believed that by using military force, it would force Pakistan to negotiate on its own terms.
Speaking about dialogue, he said that any discussions with New Delhi will cover issues including terrorism, the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
