Five defendants have been charged by Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), which has started to take action against those allegedly conducting anti-state hate activities.
Ahmed Noorani, Nazir Butt, Muhammad Umar, Adeel Raja, and Moeed Pirzada are among those named in the lawsuits. The individuals are charged with using social media to disseminate false information about state entities.
During Pakistan-India tensions, the accused reportedly disseminated and promoted provocative and deceptive content, according to the FIR. According to the NCCIA, anyone who incite instability or attack state institutions will face harsh consequences.
