According to hiking officials on Friday, an Indian climber and a climber from the Philippines were the first mountaineers to pass away on Mount Everest during the current March–May climbing season of the world’s highest peak.
India’s 45-year-old Subrata Ghosh passed away on Thursday while returning from the 8,849-meter (29,032-foot) Hillary Step.
“He refused to descend from below the Hillary Step,” stated Bodhraj Bhandari, who organizes the Snowy Horizon Treks & Expedition in Nepal.
