On May 6, 2025, Narendra Modi’s government launched a surprise attack on Pakistan in the dead of night, firing 24 missiles at nine cities, killing nearly 31 innocent Pakistanis, including children, and injuring scores more. The government couldn’t bear the loss of its Hindutva pride after failing to stop a random terror attack.
Support for cross-border terrorism was the charge, which hasn’t been proven yet.
It was impossible to avoid drawing comparisons to Israel’s October 7, 2023, invasion on Gaza, which was justified by a Hamas attack. In order to wipe out a whole population, there have been ruthless bombardment, famine, and innumerable war crimes since.
Even still, Pakistan is not Gaza, even if its army is well-trained and feared.
