Owners, executives, and senior officials of travel businesses with headquarters in India have been subject to visa limitations by the Department of State for willfully aiding illegal immigration to the United States.
“Our Consular Affairs and Diplomatic Security Service work daily throughout our Embassy and Consulates to actively identify and target those involved in facilitating illegal immigration and human smuggling and trafficking operations,” stated spokesperson Tammy Bruce. In order to disrupt networks of foreign smugglers, we will keep taking action to restrict visas for travel agency owners, executives, and senior officials.
104 deported Indian illegal immigrants were transported to Amritsar, in the northern province of Punjab, by a US military aircraft at the beginning of February.
