After defeating Karachi Kings by 79 runs in Monday’s Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Islamabad United surged to second place on the points table.
The three-time champions secured a top-two finish with the 79-run victory, which means they will play the leaders, Quetta Gladiators, in the qualifier on Wednesday.
However, the Kings dropped to third place and will play their bitter rivals, the Lahore Qalandars, in Thursday’s Eliminator.
The 2020 champions were bowled out in the penultimate over after managing just 172 runs to stay second in the PSL 10 rankings, chasing a difficult 252-run mark and 204.
