On Tuesday, the federal government promoted Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir to the position of field marshal in appreciation of his outstanding leadership during Pakistan’s recent military conflicts with India and the successful completion of “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos.”
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presided over a federal cabinet meeting where the decision was made. In order to ensure national security and defeat the enemy via the use of the best strategy and valiant leadership during “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” the government authorized the promotion of COAS Gen. Munir to the rank of field marshal.
According to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Shehbaz congratulated the entire Pakistani population during the cabinet meeting on the accomplishment of “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” and the defeat of the enemy’s evil plans.
