KATHMANDU: Authorities reported on Monday that two climbers from India and Romania had died on Mount Lhotse, the world’s fourth-highest peak, in Nepal. At least nine climbers have lost their lives on the summit this season.
Romanian Barna Zsolt Vago, 48, died Sunday while climbing the 8,516-meter (27,940-foot) peak, according to AFP, according to Liladhar Awasthi of Nepal’s tourism department.
No additional oxygen was being taken by him.
After a successful summit, 39-year-old Indian climber Rakesh Kumar died that same day while descending from Camp 3 to Camp 4.
