SEOUL: According to state media on Sunday, North Korea has detained a number of senior engineers following the failure of a new warship during its launch.
The nation’s reputation was severely harmed by the 5,000-ton battleship catastrophe that occurred in front of Kim Jong Un. Kim has pledged severe penalties for the offenders.
The mishap likely occurred in front of a large crowd at the northeastern port of Chongjin, increasing the public humiliation for Kim, who had been trying to show off military might, experts say.
