KARACHI: In addition to prohibiting children from greeting guests during school ceremonies, the Sindh government has banned the giving of ajraks and Sindhi caps.
Top officials of government schools and heads of affiliated institutions were instructed to “discontinue the tradition of presenting ajrak, topi, and any other types of gifts during official meetings, functions, or ceremonies” in a notification released by the School Education and Literacy Department.
It further stated that the custom of having children greet visitors, delegations, and secretariat personnel must end.
