According to a statement released by the military’s media wing on Tuesday, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir at the General Staff Headquarters in Tehran.
The two military chiefs discussed the changing regional security environment, with an emphasis on bolstering bilateral defense ties, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In order to contribute to regional stability and prosperity, the statement stated that “key areas of mutual interest included enhancing military-to-military cooperation, improving security mechanisms along the shared border, and exploring avenues for transforming the border regions into zones of trade and economic connectivity.”
