KARACHI: Following the capture of a second suspect shown hitting a teenage motorcyclist in widely shared video footage, Karachi police increased the number of arrests in the DHA assault incident to four on Monday.
A day after chief suspect Salman Farooqi was arrested, police said the second person was apprehended after being identified using CCTV footage.
The footage also shows this person assaulting the victim, according to officials. Previously, Farooqi’s driver and security had also been taken into custody, making four arrests in all.
The case, which has caused a great deal of public concern, was filed at the Gizri police station when an eyewitness named Saleem filed a report.
