KARACHI: On Thursday, the torture case of a young man in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Ittehad Commercial area took an unexpected turn when the victim, Sudheer, came in court and declared that he had forgiven the suspects and wants to drop all charges against them.
Salman Farooqi and Owaish Hashmi, two suspects in the assault that caused a great deal of public indignation, were remanded into police detention for two days earlier this week by the Judicial Magistrate South court.
On the complaint of an eyewitness named Saleem, the case against the suspects was filed at the Gizri police station. He claimed that on May 31, there was a small collision involving an SUV.
