In the midst of a growing conflict with the Ivy League university, the White House said on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump has signed a proclamation suspending US entrance of foreign nationals wishing to study or take part in exchange programs at Harvard University.
Additionally, the directive instructs the US State Department to “consider revoking” any present Harvard students’ academic or exchange visas “who meet the Proclamation’s criteria.”
According to an internal document reviewed by Reuters, the State Department directed all of its consular posts abroad to start conducting more thorough screening of visa applicants wishing to visit Harvard University for any reason last month.
