LEICESTER: In the second Women’s ODI at Grace Road, England’s recently formed white-ball opening pair of Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont maintained their incredible form by striking back-to-back hundreds to punish the West Indies once more.
The dominant display gave the home team an insurmountable 2-0 lead in the three-game series.
Jones and Beaumont once again destroyed the West Indies bowling attack, accumulating 202 runs for the first wicket after sharing a 222-run opening partnership in the series opener at Derby last Friday.
The absence of their captain and standout all-rounder Hayley Matthews and fellow opener Qiana Joseph further damaged the already struggling visitors, who were without their usual top order.
