Ali Amin Gandapur, the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, launched a vicious attack on the federal government and state institutions, claiming that they were driving Pakistan closer to authoritarianism, ruining the country’s economy, and undermining the Constitution.
Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Gandapur attacked the governing class for alternating between positions of authority and leaving the nation in ruins. He claimed that by taking turns, they had ruined the nation and the economy. “They have now changed laws to eliminate the remaining portions of the Constitution.”
“We refuse to be slaves.”
“They think they can make us slaves,” Gandapur remarked, rejecting what he called the “fascist mindset” that permeates the nation. However, as Pakistanis and Muslims, Allah has made us free. Slavery will not be accepted by us.
