With its most recent monthly fuel adjustment, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) announced a major change in electricity pricing that will benefit power users in Karachi while raising costs for those in other regions of the nation.
Karachi’s electricity costs have been lowered by Rs2.99 per unit for a month, according a notification released by NEPRA. Customers of K-Electric will see this reduction in their June electricity bills, which is a result of the March 2025 fuel cost adjustment.
The April 2025 adjustment, on the other hand, raised electricity prices by 93 paisas per unit throughout the remainder of the nation, further taxing power users who are already struggling with high utility bills and inflation.
