DUBAI: Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib said state TV on Sunday that Tehran should soon release sensitive Israeli documents that it has acquired, calling them a “treasure trove” that would bolster Iran’s offensive capabilities.
Iranian state television said Saturday that a vast collection of classified Israeli documents had been acquired by Iranian security services. According to Khatib, these have to do with Israel’s defensive capabilities, its nuclear facilities, and its links with the US, Europe, and other nations.
Israel did not immediately provide a formal statement.
It was unclear if the data leak was connected to the alleged hack of an Israeli nuclear research facility last year, which Tehran is just now revealing in the midst of increased tensions over its nuclear program.
