The UK has refused entrance to a contentious opposition MP from South Africa who is at the center of a dispute over racial relations in the nation.
Julius Malema had been judged “non-conducive to the public good” and it was “undesirable” to allow him admission, according to the Home Office.
His strong support for Hamas, including a speech he gave following the October 7 attacks in which he claimed his own party would arm the group if it came to power, was cited by the Home Office in a letter issued by Malema’s party.
Malema’s “statements calling for the slaughter of white people [in South Africa] or hinted that it could be an acceptable option in the future” were used by the UK as evidence for their decision.
