According to Ukrainian sources, Russian airstrikes on southern Ukraine on Tuesday damaged a passenger train, hospitals, and schools, killing at least 17 people.
Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, reported that over 100 people were injured in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Separate attacks on the city of Sumy in the northeast were said to have killed three additional people, including a toddler.
Zelensky was meeting with European leaders at the NATO summit in the Netherlands when the infrequent midday strike occurred.
On the fringes of the meeting, Zelensky is also anticipated to meet with US President Donald Trump to talk about defense plans and additional penalties against Russia.
