Didier Dubreucq, 69, had been receiving chemotherapy after receiving a lung cancer diagnosis while in custody before his trial.
He and seven co-conspirators were convicted in May of the well-publicized Paris theft in which Kardashian’s jewelry valued at millions of dollars was taken almost ten years ago.
Dubreucq denied having anything to do with the theft. “This is an instance of mistaken identity… During his April testimony, he told the court, “I had nothing to do with this.”
“Blue Eyes” Dubreucq was not present for the sentencing because of chemotherapy, but the judge imposed a seven-year term, five of which were suspended.
Since he had previously served two years in pre-trial custody, he was not sentenced to prison time.
