India and Pakistan have swapped prisoner lists, according to a Foreign Office spokeswoman on Monday.
Pakistan gave the Indian High Commission a list of 246 Indian inmates, including 193 fishermen and 53 civilians.
However, India gave the Pakistani High Commission in Islamabad a list of 463 Pakistani inmates held in Indian prisons. There are 81 fishermen and 382 civilians on the list.
The Foreign Office states that the 2008 bilateral agreement, which requires the two nations to disclose these lists twice a year on January 1 and July 1, governs the exchange of detainees’ lists.
