According to family and diplomatic sources, Iran charged a French couple on Wednesday with spying for Israel and attempting to topple the regime.
Since May 2022, Cecile Kohler and her partner, Jacques Paris, have been detained in Iran. The accusations, according to their families and French officials, are politically motivated and untrue.
The pair is also facing a criminal allegation of “corruption on earth,” which is punishable by death.
According to the reports, Iranian officials have also accused the two of “spying” for Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad and of “conspiracy to overthrow the regime” and “corruption on earth.”
“All we know is that they have seen a judge who confirmed the three charges,” Kohler’s sister stated.
