ISLAMABAD According to a Gallup Pakistan survey, the vast majority of people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would rather work with the federal government than take part in protests, The News reported Tuesday, just days after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced a new anti-government protest movement that would peak by August 5.
Three thousand people participated in the province-wide survey, which was carried out in February and March of 2025. Despite the fact that a strong 85% of KP residents support collaborative government, almost two-thirds think that targeted protests can be a strategic tool for bringing about change at the federal level, according to the survey.
This dichotomy shows a population that values progress yet is nevertheless politically active, using protest as a technique rather than as a reflex.
