LAHORE: An old man who used foul language against Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was ordered to be released from a case by a municipal court in Lahore on Tuesday after the police requested that he be placed under physical remand.
In a written order, Judicial Magistrate Qistar Riaz stated that the investigation officer had not produced any proof to support the remand.
Furthermore, it stated that although the incident took place in a well-known location, no private witnesses were found to corroborate the police version. “No incriminating material regarding attracting of offences [under section] 290/291/186/147/149 PPC is available on record,” the amended order stated.
“The accused is named in the FIR through disclosure, according to the records.
