The calendar for cricket’s return to the Olympic Games at Los Angeles 2028 (LA28) was formally confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday. The men’s and women’s T20 competitions are scheduled to take place from July 12 to July 29, 2028.
Its return to the Olympics 128 years after its sole prior appearance at the 1900 Paris Games, where Great Britain defeated France in a single match to win gold, is a historic milestone for the sport.
Cricket’s inclusion in the LA28 was authorized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) back in 2023.
The IOC approved a six-team T20 cricket format for men and women in April of this year.
