The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said on Saturday that since the start of the monsoon season in late June, at least 202 people had died in Pakistan, including 96 children.
Punjab is responsible for 123 of the total deaths, according to government figures, which presents a sobering picture. 40 people were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 21 in Sindh, 16 in Balochistan, and one each in Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Over 200 people have died as Pakistan is devastated by the unrelenting monsoon rains.
At least 118 people died as a result of house collapses, 30 from flash floods, and others from drowning, lightning strikes, electrocution, and landslides, among other reasons.
More than 560 individuals, including 182 children, have been hurt by the rains.
