Nine terrorists were killed and District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Khalid was injured in a bloody gunfight between security forces and militants in Hangu’s Shinawari Zargari neighborhood.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Amjad Hussain, DPO Khalid, who was in charge of the operation, was shot three times during the altercation and has since been sent to Peshawar for medical attention.
Zulfiqar Hameed, Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, informed reporters that the encounter also resulted in the injuries of many other terrorists. DPO Khalid’s status is stable and not in danger, he said. “I spoke with him, and he is still in a good mood,” IG Hameed continued.
The police force’s dedication to carrying out targeted operations against terrorists throughout the province was reiterated by the IG.
