Although disgruntled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders rejected the seat adjustment, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur clarified on Sunday that the agreement between the government and the opposition remained intact for the Senate seats.
“MPAs-elect on reserved seats are taking oath at the Governor’s House as per the court [Peshawar High Court] directives,” Gandapur stated following a meeting that was attended by opposition and government figures, including KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and Opposition Leader Dr. Ibadullah.
It is important to note that when the speaker adjourned the session due to a lack of quorum, KP Governor Faisal Karim Kundi was appointed by PHC Chief Justice Syed Muhammad Atique Shah to administer the oath to members of the provincial legislature who were assigned reserved seats.
