As Pakistan continues to be battered by torrential monsoons, the nation’s disaster authority reported on Sunday that at least 13 additional persons had died in rain-related flood-related incidents during the past 24 hours.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the most recent deaths raise the overall number of fatalities since June 26 to at least 216.
The torrential downpours triggered flooding and structural collapses, with most deaths resulting from the roofs of poorly built homes giving way.
One death was recorded in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and at least 12 in Punjab. According to the NDMA handout, three ladies and four children were among the victims.
