The National Highway Authority (NHA) announced on Wednesday that it has stepped its efforts to restore traffic on many damaged sections of the Karakoram Highway (KKH) following floods and landslides caused by cloudbursts in Gilgit Baltistan (GB).
The NHA spokeswoman said that teams are working around the clock, utilizing heavy equipment and labor, to remove blocked routes in response to orders from Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan.
With activities in all of Gilgit Baltistan’s landslide and rain-affected areas, the NHA is still completely committed to the continuing efforts.
The road has been cleared once more at Tatta Pani, where traffic was recently disrupted by a landslide.
