LONDON: Brigadier (retd) Rashid Naseer, a former senior military commander in Pakistan, told the UK High Court that the military and Pakistan’s top intelligence organization, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), are unrelated to the alleged torture and kidnappings in Pakistan.
The retired Brigadier was cross-examined by Naseer’s Counsel David Lemer and Raja’s attorney, Barrister Simon Harding, during his testimony on the second day of his defamation case against Major (retd) Adil Raja.
At the beginning of the second day of the trial, Deputy Judge Richard Spearman KC of the London High Court stated that he would not permit the defamation trial of Brigadier (retd) Naseer’s case against Adil Raja to become a trial of Pakistani politics.
