Due to the ongoing monsoon season, which is causing flash floods and landslides in some areas of the country, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an advisory to telecom providers.
The advisory states that the PTA has set up a National Emergency Telecommunication Coordination Center (NETCC) to achieve this goal.
According to the advise, all telecom firms have been directed to activate emergency preparations.
In areas hit by flooding, the PTA has mandated that cell and internet services be provided continuously. Additionally, it has directed operators to protect communications infrastructure in high-risk locations.
